Acalypha 'Louisiana Red' is an upright bush that thrives in full sun and warm temperatures, can tolerate light full sun to partial shade. Native to the South Pacific, the Acalypha Louisiana Red is a large, coppery perennial bush that grows most intense when they receive at least 6 hours of direct sunlight a day. The name is derived from the color being as hot as the Louisiana summer sun and it grows to approximately 5’ tall. The Louisiana Red is an evergreen with glossy texture that can be used as a summer shrub, container plant, or anywhere a low maintenance, season long color is desired. Hardy in zones 10-11, but can be grown in containers and as annual in cooler climates, just keep in mind that mature height will be considerably smaller in cooler, sorter summers. These are growing in 3.5-inch, square pots.
