Duranta, also called Golden Dew Drops, is a tropical flowering evergreen shrub that makes a great ornamental. Its pure white iridescent flowers blossom throughout the summer. Duranta is a member of the Verbena family, and grows 2-4 feet tall in areas where it dies back in the winter, and can reach up to 18 feet in warm winter environments. This plant is a very fast grower and should produce blossoms in the first year. Plant in full sun, in well-drained soil. In the fall the plant will fill with gold colored berries that offer added appeal, but note they are toxic to humans and dogs. Hardy in zones 10-11, but often grown as an annual in cooler climates, or in a container to be brough in to a sunny spot for the winter. These plants are growing in 3.5-inch pots.
