Golden Rain tree has been has been a popular ornamental grown for the unique look of its flowers, leaves and seed pods. In the fall this tree produces long strands of bright yellow flowers up to 5 feet long, which are followed by golf ball-sized seed heads of dark rose seed pods appearing as large begonia-like bracts. These pretty tress can reach 16 to 25 feet tall and 15 feet across. They prefer full sun to part shade, require very little extra care and have few insect problems. They can spread easily by seed, so planting them in a tended garden would not be the best place, as the seeds can fall and sprout unexpectedly. Hardy in zones 8 to 11.
These plants are growing in 3.5-inch pots.
