Blue Velvet Passiflora, or Passion Flower, is a remarkable semi-evergreen climbing vine that bursts with 3-inch blue-purple flowers with blue white and purple filaments. This fast-growing, fruiting vine creates a spectacle wherever it's planted, like to fill up a trellis, along a fence, or even in pots for the patio or balcony. Once it has finished flowering for the season, it will grow its fruits. Grows 20-30 inches with a spread of up to 6 feet. Plant in full to partial sun, in well drained soil. Hardy in zones 6-9. In cooler climates it is grown in pots to bring in for the winter. In warmer climates it will die to the ground in the winter, and return the next year. It tends to spread as it returns, so keep that in mind when choosing its location.
