Passiflora quadrangularis Giant Granadilla is a fruit-bearing, climbing vine that grows to 30 feet in its hardy zones 10-11, in which it is evergreen, but can be grown as an annual in cooler climates, or in containers to be enjoyed on a patio or balcony. The beautiful ornamental vine likes the full sunshine and a mild dose of potash in the early spring. Bloom time is spring through fall. The showy, fragrant flowers on this plant are about 4 inches across and have large maroon petals with purple and blue filaments, attractive to butterflies. Use as an ornamental on a trellis or arbor for a spectacular show, or grow it for the fruit. These are growing in 3.5-inch pots.
