Ruellia malacosperma softseed Wild Petunia is lesser known ruellia. What is great about it is how beautifully it comes back every year, and is so adaptable. It is both wet and drought tolerant. This herbaceous perennial is an easy-care, fast-grower, and great for spreading and reliably coming back each spring. From spring through fall the 1-inch white flowers peek atop the lush green foliage with a 2-3-feet mounding habit. It is deer resistant, but a butterfly magnet, hummingbirds love it, and bees appreciate it too. Full sun is best for the most flower power. Great in the landscape or in containers. Hardy in zones 6-10. These are growing in 3.5-inch pots.
