Salvia Hot Lips or Salvia microphylla is an evergreen perennial which is part of the salvia genus and also known as ornamental Salvia. It is a fast grower, quickly reaching 3 feet tall and wide, with a long bloom time, spring through frost. The small oval shapped leaves are the perfect setting for the striking red and white lip-shaped small blooms in cooler weather and bright red in hotter weather. Great for borders or mass plantings, or for containers on your porch or balcony. It likes to be in full sun and prefers well-drained soil. Great for attracting hummingbirds and butterflies. Hardy in zones 8-10. Can be grown as an annual in cooler climates.
These plants are growing in 3.5-inch, deep pots.
