The tall, the magnificent staple of the south, Southern Magnolia tree makes a great centerpiece in southern gardens in June-September when in full bloom. Growing up to 40 feet, this drought tolerant tree is very easy to take care of. Seeds will take up to 6 months to germinate but need no special attention. Hardy in zones 7 and higher with no special winter protection. This specimen plant prefers well drained soil in full or part sun.
